How to Download Facebook Videos For Free

   Open Facebook. You can either open the Facebook app on your mobile device or go to https://www.facebook.com/ using a web browser on a PC or Mac.

   • If you aren’t logged in, be sure to log in with the username or email address and password associated with your Facebook account.

   Navigate to a Facebook video. It must be a video that is publicly available. You cannot download a private video or a video posted to a private account. You can find lots of videos by clicking or tapping the “Watch” icon at the top of the screen. It has an icon that resembles a TV. Alternatively, you can go to a video in your Newsfeed or on a user’s profile page or business/organization page.

   • If you don’t see the watch tab at the top of your feed, tap the menu icon with three bars (☰) at the top of the screen to display the menu. Then tap Watch or Videos on Watch. If you are using a PC or Mac, just tap Watch in the menu to the left.

   Click or tap ⋯ above the video post. It’s the button with three dots in the upper-right corner above the Facebook post with the video you want to download. This displays a menu.

   Click or tap Copy Link. This copies the link for the Facebook video.

   • If you are using an iPhone or iPad, you will need to use a slightly different method.

   Paste the link in the URL bar. Right-click or tap and hold the bar that says “Enter Facebook Video Link” and click or tap Paste.

   • On other websites, the text in the bar may say something different or contain a sample of a Facebook video URL.

   Click or tap Download. It’s the button to the right of the bar. This processes the video in the link. This may take a few minutes.

   • On other video download websites, the button may say “Search” or something similar.

   Click or tap Download Video in Normal Quality or Download Video in HD Quality. This will play the video in your web browser. Normal quality downloads the video in standard definition. HD quality downloads the video in high definition. Normal quality won’t look as good but will take up less space on your phone or tablet. HD quality will look better but will take up more space on your device.

   Click or tap ⋮. It’s in the lower-left corner of the video playback screen. This displays the menu. This displays a small menu.

    Tap Download. This downloads the video to your device. To access your downloaded video, open the Gallery app on your Android phone or tablet. Then open the “Downloads” album. On your PC, you can find it in your “Downloads” folder.

   Download and install Firefox. For this to work on iPhone or iPad, you need to use the Firefox web browser. Firefox is available for free from the App Store. Firefox has an icon that resembles a round flame in the shape of a fox. Use the following steps to download and install Firefox:

   • Open the App Store.
   • Tap the Search tab.
   • Type “Firefox” in the search bar and tap Go.
   • Tap GET next to Firefox.

   Open the Facebook app. It has a blue icon with a white “f.” Tap the Facebook icon on your Home screen to open Facebook.

   Tap ⋯. It’s the icon with three dots in the upper-right corner of the pop-up menu. This displays a menu with more sharing options.

   Tap Copy. It’s next to an icon that resembles two sheets of paper. This copies the link for the Facebook video.

   • If you don’t see the “Copy” option, tap More options in the menu. Then tap Copy.

   Open Firefox. Firefox has an icon that resembles a round flame in the shape of a fox. Tap the Firefox icon on your Home screen to open the Firefox web browser.

   Paste the URL in the URL bar. Tap and hold the bar that says “Enter Facebook Video Link.” Then tap Paste to paste the Facebook video URL.

   • On other websites, the URL bar may say something different or contain a sample URL for a Facebook video.

    Tap Download. It’s the button to the right of the bar with the video link. This processes the video in the link. This may take a few minutes.

    • On other websites, the button may say Search or something similar.

    • If you single-tap either of the links, it will play the video in the Firefox web browser without giving you the option to download it to your device.

    Tap Download Link. It’s in the menu that appears when you tap and hold either of the download links. This displays a pop-up at the bottom of the screen.

    Tap Download Now. This downloads the video to your device.

    Access the download video. You can find the video in the Firefox “Downloads” folder in the Files app. Use the following steps to access your downloaded Facebook videos:

    • Open the Files app.
    • Tap On my iPhone/iPad in the menu bar to the left.
    • Tap the Firefox folder.
    • Tap the Downloads folder.
    • Tap a downloaded video to play it.
